You've Been Carrying Something .
A vision. A community. A "BIG" that keeps you up at night because you know it matters - and you haven't found the right vehicle to make it real.
Tell Me MoreBefore we talk about you — let us tell you who we are.
We are The Silence Is Broken.
We make docu-concerts — films that combine live music performance with documentary storytelling to move people toward causes the world has been avoiding. HIV and AIDS. Animal rescue. Jazz as living medicine. Men's health. Community wholeness.
Every film we make refuses to look away. Every story we tell belongs to someone who has been waiting too long to be seen.
And every woman who shares our work with the people she loves — earns real income doing it.
No loans. No grants. No permission required.
Now, let us talk about you.
You are not here by accident.
You are a woman who has been building something. Maybe it's a community health initiative in your neighborhood. Maybe it's a farm that feeds people who can't afford to be fed well. Maybe it's a dining experience that makes healthy food feel like celebration instead of sacrifice.
Maybe it's a school program, a movement, a ministry, a business that your community needs but doesn't have yet.
Maybe it's something nobody around you fully understands — but you do.
We call that your "Big".
And we built this platform for you.
Content You're Proud To Share
Films that reflect your values. Stories that move your community. Art that does what policy cannot. Every month a new docu-concert drops in the catalog — and stays there forever.

A Word From Our Founder
The exquisite feeling of creation — grabbing an idea as if out of thin air and making it real — is exhilarating. What others don't know is how it actually came to be. How you did this. Surely you spoke it out loud to a friend you trust, because containing it alone hurt too much. It was a thought massaged over and over again in your heart, in your mind, then over and over again on paper and on screen.
You are here because the weight of not developing your Big is excruciating.
So welcome, Silence Breaker. Welcome to showing up and putting a face to your somebody.* We are here to form a line so that you will not stand alone. Welcome to the show.
My Big is why you are here.
When I created The Silence Is Broken, I did not show up as my complete self. Something was missing. I was cloaked in fear, wondering if people got it. But I was certain — certain that my ability to produce docu-concerts around the challenging issues of our time was the way to proceed. So I stood. Alone, except for the gifted artists who stood with me, gave me their talent, and gave me counsel.
I have been part of nonprofit work since I was twelve years old. The arts thrive in it — to the degree they can. But I dislike the model. I dislike asking for not enough. Artists are beautiful people, and too often we sacrifice our very beings for the opportunity to play a gig and make a few dollars. I too succumbed to this. I had very difficult growing pains before I arrived here, now, standing in front of you.
What I know — what I know with everything I am — is that I must create a space for others to flourish. A space that works as hard for you as you work for it.
So I invite you. The gifted. The intuitive. The smarter than most. The example. The loving. The givers and receivers of love. The face to your somebody.* Come and allow us to work for you — to build bridges to our greatness, everywhere.
Your Big is yours. Through The Silence Is Broken we can support it, introduce it to other Bigs, and together work through the interconnectedness we share to build art, music, theatre, organic farming, systems of health that don't discriminate against poor people, food that nourishes young people as they prepare for their daily studies — and on and on. The list is long. But the path is short if we gather and make it so.
What's your Big?
Patrick Gandy — Founder, The Silence Is Broken
I found my Big. I nurture it daily.
*"If Your Love Cannot Be Moved" — Stevie Wonder. String arrangements, orchestration and conducting by Patrick Gandy. Produced by Rickey Minor — Musical Director of The Tonight Show and Whitney Houston. It was Rickey who trusted me in the room to deliver for Stevie. I have never forgotten what that felt like. I want you to feel it too.
